A Look at a Previous T2 Find… 86 – 5 – 2+
An ID of a recent find…
An uncleaned & small silver clog clasp, with bird type footprints as a decoration, although very bent this might straighten out with a little bit of heat… There is a Duty Mark in the form of the monarchs head on this piece of imported silver, which clearly puts this piece of foreign silver somewhere between 1786 – 1821 in the Reign of George 111… From 1785 until 1890 all imported silver would carry the stamp of the monarchs head, in this case there is no silver marks just the stamp duty mark, to say that all duty’s had been paid & this was foreign silver which had been tested and could be trusted as silver…
