Good Evening

Well if you consider finding nothing, a good evening, i mean we found nothing at all; it all started after a phone call from a contractor, who had our phone number passed to him from a farmer i knew, Bob the farmer knows i am not one to miss an opportunity, and me being me, well i took on an impossible task of hunting for a lost “high tensile, gauged” nut and bolt, after a 360 Digger through a slew ring, i found one half of the bolt, still with the nut attached, so it looks like it sheared completely off, after which they decided that was it, we had done our part;

After completing our task we were then let out, to go and play… mmmm me thinks they knew something we didn’t, after less than an hour me and Dave had found nothing apart from a short piece of iron waterpipe, so after a quick consultation we agree another half an hour or so, then we would leave, well that was the story of the evening… absolutely doddle squat… So the week carried on with that theme running through every hunt, but still we went out, i have decided that it might pay me to do a weekly update, instead of only when something happens… so this is the first weekly update… i just have to remember that by the end of every week, my collection of buttons, scrap, wot-nots, and mystery items grow, so without further ado and without setting the world of metal detecting alight, here is my first offering…

a three hour hunt… where does the time go too…

a one hour hunt… and a new farm with four hundred odd acres to play with…

eight hours…

five hours + an evening jolly after dark of four hours…

eight-hours…

six hours…

five hours; plus walking parish boundary lines on a farm

Well its the end of the week, i have an overwhelming amount of scrap, old buttons, a few more pre-decimal coins, and what ever was actually picked up and not worth mentioning, as the week has been one long haul of “nothing’es” i had a look around the new farm, lots of old tractors, cows, calf’s etc… it is not going to be an exciting farm as it has been done to death, by clubs and individuals alike, but it is the woods that interest me on this farm… if your confused by the two different coils, i took the Tesoro Eldorado and the T2 out on different days, this week…
