The Naked Truth…

Trying to sort out the naked truth from the spoken or written word is so difficult, as it is closely related to each other, that it mires into one a lot of the time, with the world of advertising being full of half-truths & bending of the remaining truth, to their end gain, with elaborate stunts finishing off the naked lie…

Metal Detectors and Treasure Hunting Equipment are not exempt, & suffer from these misleading advertisements so often that they are largely overlooked when a brand-new detector is brought out, the hype never matches the real life of owning the “new-it” and must-have with its baffling array of instructions…

Yet most who have rushed out upon the release of said equipment and the newest must-have, all to soon realise it is just another expensive toy, & another way to just get your money, most will struggle, thinking it is them and not the machine, putting up with the poor build quality, unresponsive interphase, and all of this whilst using it out in the field, and paying for the privilege of being a field tester…

Most will struggle on until a new contender crests the horizon, within weeks of a Parachuted hype & a new Legend the murky truth from the non-trained, or freeloaders on various channels from which they sprout their dire rhetoric through various respective channels…

The Naked Truth, has been known since the Victorian era, and before then it was known through various different names throughout history, but the one we are quoting here is from the end of the Victorian era…

The Naked Truth…

According to the legend which sprung up in the 19th century, Truth and Lie met one day.

And lie told the truth:

“What a beautiful day it is today! “

Truth looked up in the sky and sighed with relief, it was a beautiful day indeed.

The two spent a lot of time together until they eventually reached a well.

Then Lie has turned to Truth:

“The water is really beautiful, let’s bathe together! “

True, a little suspiciously, checked the water and discovered that it was really comfortable for swimming.

That’s when they both took off their clothes and began bathing.

Suddenly, the Lie flew out of the water, put on the clothes of Truth, and ran away. The raging Truth ran out of the well, trying to find the Lie and take back her clothes.

The world, looking at the NAKED TRUTH, turned its gaze in condemnation and anger. Poor Truth returned to the well and disappeared forever, hiding her shame.

Since then, the Lie travels around the world dressed as the Truth, meeting the needs of society, because the World, in any case, does not possess the slightest desire to know the naked Truth.

“The Naked Truth Comes Out of the Well”, Jean-Léon Gérôme, 1896…
