Who said they are burying England under concrete… There are only 750 Acres of prime farmland or green belt, being built on…
As for the other part of concrete, i mean the ground is hard, it’s just like digging into concrete, with a spade…
Sunday 10/7/22 & inside the van, the temperature was reading 33, now to me that’s warm, i did give up after three hours, but the only reason was that the ground was rock solid, I’ve known concrete to be softer, and even with my trusty JR spade it was impossible to dig some targets, I did not have the fork which makes life so much easier, so some of the targets were left, especially if the numbers were high i just left them in the ground, for fear of damaging what was in there, as the find could have been in the line of fire…
With the ground being so hard i had to literally peck away at the ground, with a sideways action, after six or so inches it did soften, but getting there was a nightmare as the ground was just too solid, to break through…
Thinking about it, i reckon a good fifteen to twenty targets were left in the impossible ground, ah well never mind, more to dig next time, i will post up the meagre offerings later, two pre-decimal half penny, scrap copper, lead, blah, blah – blah…
