Finds Pouch…

Not many people today, carry there metal detecting finds in the coat or trouser pockets anymore, & as discussed before when i first started detecting, i was given a gas mask bag to carry food and drink in, ideal for when you’re working out in the fields, these ex-military shoulder bags are nearly indestructible, so when i started to metal detect this was my first choice for a finds pouch, and it continued to be with me until about 1991, that was when i popped into a local ex-military store where i found an old ammunition pouch, which conveniently had the obligatory hole in the bottom, allowing the dust to disappear, and low and behold right next to it was a good quality and very stiff belt that my new finds pouch would sit quite nicely on, i have since learned the belt and pouch i first bought would have been circa 1950’s…. in around 1994 i got fed up with the existing clip, as it was metal and with the constant movement of bending down, twisting and then standing up, it kept coming undone, so i sewed on the modern equivalent which was a plastic “snap clip” this works 100%, easy on & off, and no mishaps so far…
i know for a fact the modern military belts have 
these as standard now, as i purchased one after i found it at a boot fair, which i purchased for the princely sum of ten pounds, although not expensive for a dedicated finds pouch belt, when another ammo pouch was a further ten pounds for metal detecting, non the less it is expensive compared to other ex-military bits and bobs, i purchased this to be used as a spare belt, and pouch just in case…
Inside the pouch, i have one of my daughter’s old mesh-make-up bags, which has a good quality zip, and withstands the constant dirt that it gets covered in due to the mud on either my hands, gloves finds or both, this makeup bag is small enough to keep the goodies like hammered coins, and silver artefacts safe, apart from that, i carry nothing else in the pouch, except finds… However, on the belt i have two small pouches, both acquired from different places, this first one is fitted onto the belt itself, & is great for holding a spare battery box which contains my four spare battery’s for the T2 [- just in case -] tucked down beside that is a small first aid kit, [- old habits die hard -] this tiny kit comes with its own zipped pouch & contains plasters, small bandage, pins, along with the other bits you might find useful, i have added some headache tablets to complete my own kit…
On the pouch itself i have another small military pouch with two small pockets which are long, & are just right to hold a multi-tool and a torch, with the torch having a strap to keep it safe, and not lost in a field somewhere, which has happened before, Mag-Lights are still expensive compared to the cheaper mass produced torches sold at the local market, shown here is the Mag-Light which retails at £ 22.00p or on the other hand for comparison there is the 49p modern mass-produced one from the local market…
Now the problem as to where i fit the Holster for the Pin-Point-Probe-! was sorted as it attaches quite nicely on the side of the belt, with me being lazy the probe fits into the pouch quite nicely…
